February 1st, The Ministry of Commerce and other 5 departments have announced the third batch of Chinese time-honored brand name list. Xijiu has been recognized as the third batch of Chinese time-honored brands relies on its long history of brewing, deep cultural heritage, superior product quality, consciously adhering to principles and innovating and the outstanding social contribution.

"Chinese time-honored brands" are an important component of Chinese commercial culture, showcasing the essence and historical accumulation of traditional Chinese commerce, carrying rich historical and cultural connotations, as well as the cultural memory and emotional bonds of the Chinese nation. They also represent the quality and reputation of Chinese commerce. Xijiu is honored to have been recognized as a "Chinese time-honored brand", fully demonstrating the distinct traditional cultural genes and profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation. In order to develop the brewing industry, the Renhuai County Industrial Bureau purchased the Yin family distillery which inherited from the Ming Dynasty, then recruited workers and founded a distillery.

In 1956, Renhuai County Industry Bureau appointed the deputy director of Maotai Distillery who named Zou Dingqian to take charge of the production and produced the sauce flavor Baijiu with Maotai Liquor Production Technology. And in 1977, it was taken over by the Sugar and Wine Company of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, and the factory was named "Guizhou Xishui Distillery". In 1981, Xishui Distillery resumed and researched new technologies for producing sauce flavored Daqu liquor. In 1983, the newly developed Daqu sauce flavored liquor passed the provincial appraisal and was named "XiJiu". The brand name was inscribed by the famous Chinese calligrapher Chen Heng'an. In 1992, Xishui Distillery underwent structural reform and established Guizhou Xishui Liquor General Company. In 1998, it officially joined Maotai Group and the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Government decided to establish Guizhou Xijiu Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd in 2022. For 72 years, Xijiu has been striving for self-improvement, hard work, innovation, and excellence, and has developed into a world-renowned brand. Its leading brand "Xijiu" has been awarded provincial, departmental, and national awards, and has been recognized as a "National Geographical Indication Protection Product".
